Sometimes the simplest things, such as evaporation, can be the best. Quang Truong has designed and created a refrigerator that is durable enough for poorer farmers and does not rely on electricity. By using aluminum plates and a special cloth thst is kept wet, this device can help to keep produse fresh for longer periods of time. Rotting produce is a large problem in countries such as Morocco where a large portionof produce rots before arriving to the consumer. These sun and water powered refridgerators would help part of this problem due to the fact that it does not require unreliable electricity like conventionsl refridgerstors.
This is a great recreation and improvement upon zeer pots which are much bulkier, have less storage and much more easily broken due to being made from terra cotta. These are an amazing solution to a large problem in places like Africa and the Middle East where refigeration might be rare or hard to come by. Hopefully this device will increase in popularity so that it may be used more widely to help farmers with the same problem.
